The mission of Spotlight Cast & Crew is to provide a musical theatre experience that is directed, choreographed, designed (lighting, sound and costume) and performed by students in grades 8-12 in the greater Fort Worth Area. The objective of our mission is to provide annual theatre intensives in the summer at no cost to any of the students involved. Spotlight Cast & Crew is an equal opportunity organization and provides opportunities to students regardless of race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, socioeconomic status, gender or sexual orientation.
Production History
You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown
2026 STUDIO PRODUCTION
In July 2026, Spotlight Cast & Crew launched The Spotlight Studio, our newest tuition-free program, with our inaugural production of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. 20 student artists representing 10 Fort Worth-area schools collaborated to bring this joyful celebration of friendship and happiness to the stage, culminating in two sold-out performances.
Disney’s Newsies: The Musical
2026 MAIN STAGE PRODUCTION
In June 2026, Spotlight Cast & Crew mounted our largest production to date, both in scale and student participation. A total of 51 student artists representing 12 schools from across the greater Fort Worth area came together to bring Disney's Newsies: The Musical to life, performing for two sold-out audiences.
Guys and Dolls
2025 PRODUCTION
In 2025, to celebrate our fifth anniversary season, Spotlight Cast & Crew proudly produced the Broadway classic Guys and Dolls, showcasing the talents of 39 student artists from 11 different schools across the DFW metroplex!
Disney’s The Little Mermaid
2024 PRODUCTION
In 2024, Spotlight Cast & Crew brought Disney's The Little Mermaid to life, showcasing the talents of 35 students hailing from 12 different schools across the DFW metroplex!
Chicago: Teen Edition
2023 PRODUCTION
For our 2023 student-led production, Spotlight Cast & Crew produced Chicago: Teen Edition, which featured the work of 31 students from 15 schools all over the DFW metroplex!
Legally Blonde: The Musical
2022 PRODUCTION
In June 2022, Spotlight produced an entirely student-led production of Legally Blonde: The Musical that featured 33 student artists from 16 different schools in the DFW area!
A Chorus Line: High School Edition
2021 PRODUCTION
Spotlight’s inaugural student-led production was A Chorus Line: High School Edition in June 2021. The production featured 25 student artists from 8 different schools in the DFW area!
